JDM Transmissions for Sale — Automatic, Manual and CVT
Every transmission we have in stock, in one place. These are low-mileage Japanese-market units, pulled from vehicles retired early in Japan and imported by us directly. We hold them at our own warehouse in Valley Stream, New York. Honda and Acura, Toyota, Lexus and Scion, Nissan and Infiniti, Subaru, Mazda and Mitsubishi.
Transmissions are not like engines — the code on the case decides everything. Two cars of the same year and model can take different gearboxes, and a unit that bolts up can still be the wrong ratio or the wrong drive type. Before you order, call (718) 949-9449 with the code stamped on your transmission, or your VIN. We will match it the same day.
HOW TO FIND YOUR TRANSMISSION CODE
On most Japanese transmissions the code is a short stamp — four or five characters — on a flat pad on the bell housing or the case.
-
Honda & Acura — a four-character code such as MKHA, MGSA, BYBA, M8EA, MX9A, MTKA. Usually stamped on the case near the bell housing.
-
Toyota & Lexus — a letter-number code such as U151E, U660E, U140F, A245E. Often on a tag or stamped on the case.
-
Nissan & Infiniti — RE5R05A, RE4F04B, and the JATCO CVT units.
-
Subaru — the TZ / TV series automatics and the 5MT and 6MT manuals; the matching rear differential ratio matters as much as the gearbox.
If you cannot find the stamp, send us a photo of the transmission and your VIN. We read these codes every day.
WHAT MATTERS BESIDES THE CODE
-
Drive type. FWD, AWD and 4WD versions of the same family are different parts. A Toyota U151E and a U151F are not interchangeable.
-
Gear count. Within one code family there can be 4-speed and 5-speed units from different years.
-
Cooler. Some otherwise identical units differ only by whether they came with an external cooler.
-
Final drive ratio. On Subaru especially, the transmission has to match the differential ratio in the car.
⚠ BEFORE YOU INSTALL
Replace the filter and fill with the correct fluid for your vehicle — Honda ATF, Toyota WS, Subaru HP, Nissan NS-2 or NS-3, whatever the application calls for. The wrong fluid will destroy a good transmission faster than anything else. Flush and replace the cooler lines, and inspect the torque converter before it goes in. A transmission that failed because of fluid is not a warranty claim anywhere.
📦 WHAT YOU RECEIVE
- The transmission assembly as it came out of the donor vehicle, including the torque converter on automatics.
- Sensors, solenoids and brackets attached are a bonus, not part of the sale, and are not guaranteed.
- These are used imports — not rebuilt and not remanufactured. We inspect every unit before it ships.
- Mileage is typically 40,000 to 70,000 miles, estimated from the donor vehicle. There is no odometer to verify against, so we give the range instead of a number we cannot prove.
WARRANTY
Our transmissions carry a 30-day warranty. Coverage assumes the unit was installed with fresh fluid of the correct specification and a working cooler — that is the one condition we hold to, because it is the one thing that kills a good gearbox.
SHIPPING
Transmissions go by LTL freight, not parcel — they run around 200 to 350 lb on a pallet. Shipping is quoted separately from the price of the unit and is calculated at checkout from weight and destination. Liftgate service is always included, so you do not need a loading dock.
-
Delivering to a shop or business: nothing extra to add.
-
Delivering to a house: add the $80 Residential Delivery Fee to your cart along with the transmission. That covers residential delivery and the liftgate.
-
Local pickup at our Valley Stream warehouse: no shipping cost.
- Buying an engine and transmission together? Call us — they usually ship on one pallet and one freight charge.
We ship anywhere in the continental United States. We do not ship to Hawaii, Alaska, or anywhere off the mainland.
