How we source engines
Every engine in our inventory is hand-selected from Japan. We don't buy containers of bulk engines from a domestic importer and pass them through; we source directly, selecting low-mileage units from Japanese donor vehicles before they're exported. This matters because the alternative — buying in bulk from a domestic wholesaler — means you're often one or two steps removed from the actual condition assessment of what arrives.
Japan's vehicle inspection system (shaken) creates an economic incentive for Japanese owners to turn over vehicles before they accumulate high mileage, which is the structural reason JDM imports typically carry lower documented miles than comparable-age domestic units. We source within that window, targeting units that represent genuine low-mileage imports rather than the higher-mileage tail of what the Japanese export market also produces.
What "hand-selected" means in practice
We evaluate engines for:
- Visual condition: no signs of overheating damage, obvious oil leaks, or external impact
- Documented mileage: from the original export records, not estimated
- Completeness: all critical ancillaries present and undamaged
We do not claim to perform internal inspections or compression testing — no importer who tells you they're doing full engine teardowns on every unit is being truthful about that process at scale. What we do is source carefully, verify documented mileage from the source, and back our selection with a warranty so you're covered if something is wrong.

Every engine we sell comes backed by our warranty. The terms are written and provided at purchase — not verbal, not vague. If an engine has a problem that falls within the warranty terms, we stand behind it. This is our statement of confidence in the quality of what we're selling. A seller who won't offer a written warranty is not confident in what they're selling; we are.

Engines are heavy freight; we use carriers and packaging protocols appropriate for the weight and value of what we're shipping. We sell to anyone — individual buyers, DIY mechanics, and professional shops alike. You don't need to be a licensed repair facility to purchase from us.
What if my engine arrives damaged or not as described?
Contact us immediately. Our warranty process starts with documentation of the issue — photos and a written description — and we work through the claim from there. Getting in touch quickly is important; most warranty terms have time windows that start from delivery or first startup.
Do you offer installation services?
We sell engines — we don't install them. If you need a shop recommendation in your area, many of our customers have good experiences from our network. Ask when you order.
